Steps 1 and 2:

Focus on emphasizing building the Fundamentals of skating so that a player can learn proper positioning (body and stick) for angling and/or stick check (forcing the opponent to go in the direction you want). Also, focus will be on reading and reacting and being able to adjust while using the proper angle and/or stick check.

Steps 3 and 4:

Focus on applying knowledge from Steps 1 and 2 to focus on Body Contact and Body Checking. Reinforcing the emphasis on building the Fundamentals of skating so that a player can learn proper positioning for angling and “how to” use contact. Also, focus will be on reading and reacting and being able to adjust while using the proper angle for body contact.

Players will also be taught what body checking really is and what are “Safe” zones and “Dangerous” zones.

Each session will be designed with repetition, repetition, repetition to train and improve the "fundamental" aspects of the skill to produce an improved result.
